The main item on the agenda will be the proposal for incorporation of the BMAF as a limited company and BMAF Services Limited will become a subsidiary of the new company. The initial discussions with the Council were positive but the documents presented at the AGM are not necessarily the final versions. We wish to get general approval to the documents while giving opportunity for anyone who wants to make comments or suggest alternatives. If the proposal is approved by a two thirds majority of those present at the meeting, then we can update the documents in accordance with the feedback and take professional legal/tax advice on our status of the proposed organisation. An extraordinary general meeting can then take place separately to wind up the BMAF and hand over responsibility for masters athletics in the UK once the new company is established.

c) Kevin’s letter for the 2023 Inter Area Indoor T&F Challenge
Hello All,

I hope you are fit and well and perhaps up for some Indoor competition in the New Year. This is my early first recruitment letter to try and put together a SWVAC team (male and female)for the E.M.A.A. Indoor Inter Area Track and Field Challenge, to be held at Lee Valley Athletics Centre, North London, on Sunday 26th February 2023.

Age-group bands are 35-49; 50-59; 60-69; 70+. Last year, a full event list was available for the younger two age-groups and a reduced event list for the older two.

The timetable is not yet available, so it’s a case of register your interest first, and we’ll sort the detail when the full information is available.

As a guide, the last competition track events were: 60m; 200m; 400m; 800m; 1500m; 3000m; 60m Hurdles; Walk; 4x200m. Field events were: LJ; HJ; TJ; Shot; Pole Vault.

There is only one athlete per event, per age-group, allowed, so consider registering interest for more than one event. Selection will be based on current/recent performances, or outdoor equivalent performance, where necessary.

If you are considering this event for the first time, the good news is that there are no entry fees! However, you must compete in the SWVAC vest, and supply me with your date of birth and England Athletics registration number.

So, please express your interest as soon as possible, and by January 29th latest. After that date you will not be considered unless there is a vacancy, or one arises.

So that people can make necessary arrangements, the team will be finalised by February 5th (unless there are still vacancies/late defections), so don’t just rely on performances close to the fixture date – express your interest early and then try and find suitable competition fixtures!

Email me atkevin_archer45@hotmail.com(that’s kevin underscore archer).

Cheers
Kevin Archer

b) It is the members responsibility to submit their best performances to Alison White by 31st January 2023 at the latest – members can inform Alison of their results during the year if preferable and submit more than one per category but only their best time will count towards the Grand Prix in each category.

c) Male & Female 5 year age categories – we will calculate your age-grading percentage based on your age on the day of the individual races.

d) The final results will be published during February 2023.

e) Overall Male and Female SWVAC Road Champions will be determined by results (based on WAVA calculations) from the best 3 events out of the 5 and will be awarded in February 2023.
